Welcome to Gad's Hill Place!

It is rumoured that CHARLES DICKENS took all his meals at GAD’S HILL PLACE (and every now and then he wrote something). You can enjoy a delicious Victorian meal the way Dickens did at our eating house.

GAD’S HILL PLACE (named after Charles Dickens’ home) is a Victorian eating house based on the works of Charles Dickens. Located in historic Merrickville in a heritage building Gad’s Hill offers a varied fare of home-cooked delights such as Prime Rib with Yorkshire Pudding, Poached salmon, Lemon-pepper chicken, Angels on Horseback (a succulent dish of scallops sauteed in a bacon-dill cream sauce and topped with cheese).

For lunch we offer chicken pot pie, Liver and onions, Cottage pie, Sandwiches, Salads, Soups such as Potato and leek in a cheese biscuit bowl and Mulligatawny. And desserts...all homemade and decadent.

In keeping with Dickens’ love for the theatre we feature regular dinner theatres (see our web page).

We also have the "Olde Curiosity Shoppe" with different items for sale from decorative pieces to furniture to games to food items.
